“Michelle is the ULTIMATE example of a truly strong African American woman.”-Beyonce sends love and gratitude to FLOTUS and current cover girl Michelle Obama.

I wasnt sure If i should support the Obama but since Beyonce loves Michelle it’s a no brainer because you know I let pop culture Icons tell me what to think

Heaven forbid Beyonce be thankful for First Lady Obama. It is all about her telling YOU what to think. It’s all a ploy for YOUR vote. It couldn’t possibly be about her being grateful that her daughter has someone to look up to like Mrs. Obama.

I am grateful for Mrs. Obama too. It’s okay though, since I am not a part of “Pop culture” my feelings are probably genuine.

What is wrong with you?

My problem is that people form so much of their opinion around what pop culture icons say I love both Michelle Obama and I love Beyonce I love the fact that I see a successful black woman uplifting another successful black woman what I hate are the people base a lot of their opinion on what their favorite pop icon says and not on their own opinion

Here’s the problem though, you did that, not the magical “Them.” I agree with every single thing you’ve said in the comment directly above. Had I read it on a post that was all it’s own, I would have agreed whole heartily with it. However, your first comment takes something from it.

I am aware you were being sarcastic but your original comment was in reply to someone saying “Oh I am going to vote for Obama now that I know Beyonce likes his wife.” You made this decision all on your own and spoke to something that wasn’t there.

Are there people who will vote for whoever their favorite start likes? Yes, of course. Was this the place for that discourse? No.

Why couldn’t you have let this be a lovely moment of appreciation from one person to another, no matter their status?

The fact that people are arguing about this is asinine.

There is nothing wrong with Beyonce praising the First Lady. She has the right to do so. She’s not trying to get you to think her way.
